Cyberware Talent

It’s been a while, but I’ve finally got around to adding the Cyberware Talent.  This gave me a number of issues and has forced me to rethink how I want Talents to work.  When I first looked at the Magic Talent I specifically didn’t want to include spells.  For me spells are a constraint that the CORTEX system can avoid. Magic should be the manipulation of reality to do whatever you want.  My view hasn’t changed.

What does that have to do with Cyberware I hear you ask?  Well I initially wanted Cyberware to be equally generic as I said in a previous post.  The more I looked at this though the more I felt it broke down;  someone with the Headware Talent can’t just do everything that all potential head cyberware can do. That’s too open..

My decision was to make each installed system a single SFX.  It’s relatively simple and also allows a large amount of diversity without getting too bogged down.  The question is whether this compares well to Magic as a Talent.

That will have to come out in playtesting..
